Oxford resident Andy Miller works at Oxford’s Hilton Garden Inn. Co-workers describe her as positive and bubbly. It is her desire to please her customers, though, that has earned her the prestigious “Spirit of the Garden” award.

Miller was nominated by her peers and chosen from among 20,000 other Hilton Garden Inn employees for the title. The corporation is owned by Ascent Hospitality Management Co., LLC.

Miller is a server at the American Grill restaurant at the Inn. It was her attention to a certain hotel guest and his wife that made her application possibly stand out from among others. She shared a frequent guest’s excitement about his wife’s visit. She made a picture of the couple, had it framed and gave it to him so his wife could “be with him” even when he was away from home.

“Miller continues to make outstanding contributions to guests and team members,” said general manager Angela Smith, “showing great enthusiasm in all areas of her work at the hotel.”

Miller, a student at Gadsden State Community College, will receive a cash prize, a Spirit Award plaque, a lapel pin and other recognition throughout her career with the company. Congratulations to to Andy.
